Raumland GmbH: Family-owned excellence meets state-of-the-art automation to preserve quality and craftsmanship.
The cobot perfectly reflects what we need. It is a flexible machine, compact, quick to set up, and, ultimately, affordable. We were able to automate a task that was extremely tedious. No one complains about back pain anymore. At least not from palletizing.

The Problem

Raumland GmbH processes over five million bottles and 2,500 different wines every year, creating a huge diversity in its bottling operations. In a single 8-hour shift, employees had to handle up to 40 tonnes of packaging, which was inefficient and physically demanding. In addition, all the proposed automation solutions came up against major difficulties, such as lack of flexibility, oversized systems or prohibitive costs, making it difficult to find a solution tailored to the company's needs.

The Solution

To tackle this problem, Raumland GmbH successfully used Robotiq's PE20 Palletizing Solution with the UR 20 cobot. The solution is positioned at the end of the bottling line, between two Euro pallets. It uses a vacuum gripper to simultaneously pick up two cartons of wine from the conveyor belt and palletize them with precision. When one pallet is full, an employee replaces it, while the cobot continues on to the second pallet. The collaborative design of the cobot enables it to work safely alongside staff without protective enclosures, improving both efficiency and safety.
