Our team is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer interested in actively participating in the development cycle of mecatronic products, from the concept phase to start of production. The successful candidate will be driven to take part in the technical decision-making within a constantly changing world. As a senior team member, the successful candidate’s know-how and coaching skills will be called upon to benefit less experienced colleagues.
Main Responsibilities:
Work with the team in planning the tasks to be carried out according to priority and participate in the management of projects alongside your colleagues.
Exhibit a strong team spirit, provide assistance, share your knowledge and your best practices and mentor junior designers and engineers.
Take part in enhancing mechanical practices through a technological watch and by keeping abreast of the latest developments in your field through training and other established professional development activities.
Set the product architecture while ensuring that it meets customer needs and design the parts, assemblies and mechanisms.
Carry out the testing and validation of prototypes created in-house by using means such as 3D printers and machine tools to speed up repetitive development or subcontracting.
Maintain strong communications within the design team as well as the smooth transition of projects to the fabrication phase.
Candidate profile:
THE DESIRED PROFILE:
Mechanical engineering degree or relevant experience;
At least 10 years of relevant experience;
Familiarity with programming and electronics;
Proficiency with the Solidworks and Solidworks PDM systems or with another design and data management tool;
Systemic and problem-solving mindset;
Outstanding team player;
Good command of spoken and written French and English;
Familiarity with industrial robotics (major asset).
