Problem

Whippany Actuation Systems faced increased demands for specialized parts. They needed to add capacity to their shop and faced some important choices: buy a new CNC machine, outsource the work, or introduce automation.

Solution

Whippany automated a collaborative robot that is able to slide open the door of their CNC machine with the Robotiq 2-Finger Adaptive Gripper, reach in, take the machined part out and replace it with a new blank part for machining, then instruct the CNC machine to begin its work.
